At Seed in Victoria Gardens, Assistant Store Manager Lucy Dawkins loves cultivating happiness and planting smiles on her customers’ faces.
Lucy has only recently put down roots at the centre, but she’s quickly started to feel at home.
“I started working here last November, but I’ve worked in retail since I was a teenager.
Seed offers beautifully designed clothing, accessories and footwear for women, teens, children, and babies.
Lucy says that everyone knows what Seed is and that it is great quality, so the pieces sell themselves. “My favourite products are the linen pieces. Linen is a great quality fabric – it’s a staple and you can instantly look effortless when you are wearing it.”
Lucy loves her job because she gets to talk to a huge range of people.
“At Victoria Gardens we get everyone from babies to grandmas. I love making so many different people happy. It’s very rewarding.”
She’s well equipped to offer sage advice to shoppers. “I’m very crafty, I love making things – I recently made an entire outfit to wear to a festival.”
Lucy is a Richmond local and loves the diversity of the area.
“I once helped an old Italian lady choose something for her grandson,” she says. “She was so appreciative that she came back and gave me homemade cookies!”
She’s a big fan of Victoria Gardens because “it’s a relaxed shopping centre that has everything.”
When it comes to choosing something to eat at the centre her pick is Thailander – she is celiac, and it has a great selection of main meals she can enjoy.
